How do I try my first move?
- Watch: choose a reference in Challenges. Check its duration, space and equipment labels, then watch the whole move.
- Set up: put your phone somewhere steady. If prompted, use the camera check to see yourself and the tracking lines. Nothing is recorded during that check.
- Have a turn: practise, then start recording when you are ready.
- Compare: replay your attempt beside the reference. When enough movement is visible, Aahaa can show a match percentage. You can try again if you want to.
The clip length is not the length of the whole session: watching, setting up and replaying take extra time. Choose movement that fits your space and comfort. Aahaa is designed for adults 18+.
Your first little turn
Watch it. Then make it yours.
One-arm hug · 7.4-second move · Free
Watch the reference, then use your camera to record your turn. Replay both and see your movement match when enough is in view.
Try this free move →No account needed. Camera access starts in practice. Your recording stays on your device.
What happens when I try it?
- Open this same free move in the app’s practice screen.
- Check your camera view if prompted, then practise and record when you are ready.
- Replay your attempt beside the reference. Your match is calculated from your recording; there is no preset example score.
Some attempts cannot receive a score. The match compares visible movement and does not certify correct exercise form. Watch the whole reference and choose only movement that suits your space and comfort.
Do I need an account or camera access?
You can browse references, watch previews and use free moves without creating an account. Browsing and watching do not need the camera. Camera practice, recording and movement comparison do.
Sign in for membership and private score sync with Plus. You choose whether to allow movement reminders and occasional move-update notifications separately. Read the desk-break guide for scheduled reminders.
What is free, and what does Aahaa Plus add?
The free boundary is move length, not a daily or weekly attempt quota. You can repeat a free move; local recordings still use device space.
| Feature | Free | Aahaa Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Watch reference previews | All previews, including longer Plus moves | All previews |
| Attempt moves | Moves up to 10 seconds | Includes moves longer than 10 seconds |
| Create a private move | 10-second recordings | Also 20- and 30-second recordings |
| Hands-free flow | Included; longer Plus moves preview briefly before continuing | Included, with longer attempts unlocked |
| Attempt history | Local on the device | Private score history across signed-in devices; videos stay local |
Plus has monthly and yearly subscriptions. Your local store price appears before purchase. A subscription does not back up your videos or create a public profile.
Can I use Aahaa videos offline?
The installed iPhone and Android apps include core reference videos for local playback. The web app streams those references; it does not automatically download the whole video library into your browser.
Account, purchase and score-sync features may still need an internet connection. Local recordings use the storage of the device or browser where you made them.
| Content or feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Core reference videos | Included in the native apps for local playback; streamed on the web |
| Your recorded videos | Stay on the device or browser where you recorded them |
| Account and membership | Use online services |
| Plus score history | Uses a connection to sync privately across signed-in devices |
Who can see my recordings?
Custom moves and attempts are private in this release. There is no public attempt feed or sharing of user recordings. Your attempt is compared with its reference; it is not added to a shared list of other people’s attempts.
Videos are not backed up or synced to your other devices. Removing the native app removes its local files; clearing browser data can remove web recordings. Plus syncs private scores, not the video files. See the Privacy Notice for account data and service details.
What does a movement match tell me?
It compares movement the camera could see against the reference. It does not measure overall fitness or prove safe or correct exercise form. Some recordings do not contain enough usable movement to receive a score.
Read match percentage versus “% compared” to understand partial results, or use the camera setup guide before another turn.
