A little movement, explained

Small-space movement without a gym

Aahaa lets you browse seated, standing and floor moves. Choose the space first, check the equipment on each move, then make sure both you and your camera have room.

Small space does not mean the same setup for everyone

A seated upper-body move and a standing full-body move need different space and framing. Before recording, watch the complete reference and check the area around you. A move that fits on a phone screen may still need more room than your camera can see.

In Challenges → Filters, choose Small space, Seated, Standing or Floor to explore a setup. Multiple selected tags broaden the catalogue selection, so check the tags and equipment on the individual card. Do not assume every filtered result satisfies all selected tags.

Check what “no gym equipment” really means

Some moves use a chair or a mat even though they do not need weights. The catalogue supports equipment tags including Chair, Mat and Resistance band. Check the reference and the equipment label before trying a move. A chair-required sequence should not be treated as an equipment-free option.

For example, the catalogue includes Desk shoulder release with a chair tag and Standing twist as a longer sequence. These illustrate different setups, not a recommendation to perform either in an unsuitable space. Both longer attempts require Plus; the previews remain available to browse.

Give the camera a useful view

Put the phone on a stable surface and frame the body parts involved in the move. For an upper-body move, those parts may fit in a closer view. A full-body move needs enough distance and light to keep the relevant movement visible. The camera check helps you see the preview and moving overlays before you record.

If the comparison says some movement was out of view, change the setup before another attempt. A score is a comparison of what was visible, not a measure of overall fitness or a guarantee of correct exercise form.

A quick setup check before your first turn

  1. Watch the whole reference and check its equipment label. Leave room for the movement, not just your starting position.
  2. Place the phone steadily on a suitable surface. You do not have to hold it while moving.
  3. Use the camera preview to check the relevant body parts stay visible through the move. Adjust the phone or choose a different move if the space does not fit.
  4. Check the light and the tracking overlay before recording. If tracking is unreliable, change the setup rather than assuming the score will be meaningful.
  5. Keep other people out of the frame. You can browse previews without using the camera; recording and comparison need camera access.

There is no single phone distance or floor area that works for every move and device. Start with one suitable move before beginning a hands-free stack. Nothing is recorded during the camera check.

Your first little turn

Check the framing with a real reference

This is a standing reference. Watch how far the arms move, then decide whether your space and camera view can fit the whole movement. Choose another move if they cannot.

One-arm hug · 7.4-second move · Free

Watch the reference, then use your camera to record your turn. Replay both and see your movement match when enough is in view.

No account needed. Camera access starts in practice. Your recording stays on your device.

What happens when I try it?
  1. Open this same free move in the app’s practice screen.
  2. Check your camera view if prompted, then practise and record when you are ready.
  3. Replay your attempt beside the reference. Your match is calculated from your recording; there is no preset example score.

Some attempts cannot receive a score. The match compares visible movement and does not certify correct exercise form. Watch the whole reference and choose only movement that suits your space and comfort.

Start with a short free turn

Free accounts can attempt and create moves up to 10 seconds. You can watch every reference preview, including longer Plus sequences. If a card needs Plus, continue to the next move or explore membership. There is no weekly attempt limit.

Try one move first so you can understand the camera view, recording and replay. Once the setup feels clear, hands-free flow can guide you through your selected stack. Make sure the whole stack fits the equipment and space you have.

Can I use the videos offline?

The native iPhone and Android apps include the core reference videos for local playback. The web app streams the reference library. Account, purchase and sync features may still require a connection. Personal recordings stay local, and removing the app removes its local files.

You do not need to share a recording to use the comparison. Attempts and custom moves are private in this release. See offline playback and storage in Aahaa, or read the Privacy Notice for details about camera access and optional account features.
